Summer Pride Blog Week 1: Monday: Early morning rain, sun yet to come up, bright shiny faces, good energy, Coaches fired up and on their game, some coaches could be a star on stage in Branson with their comedy, some players don't get it, Welcome to the 2007 edition of Coach Patterson's cleansers. it is amazing how fast 30 seconds go by, some learn that if you are late, 200 yard bear crawls are to be expected. sure hard to take good pictures in the dark, I bet the attitude was better than it was at your place of work for a Monday morning, at least until after people had their coffee. Tuesday: More rain, parking lot is slower to be filled 10 minutes early, eyes not as bright today, finding out who the morning people are, need to make a couple of house calls for the sleepy heads, dedicated coaches and seniors show their leadership which is very impressive, trip to the weight room, some different late arrivals, same bear crawls. Some stay after camp to help coach the youth football camp, there is no more wearing your jersey on game days, but it is great to see the Trojans remember their past. Site 1, Site 2 Thursday: More rain, nice to have Wednesday off, field drills and kettle bells, what a way to wake up, Hulkamaina makes it's appearence, coaches must watch Tulsa's own Dr. Phil as they are the master of motivation both ways, more bear crawls by a few even if mom and dad made you late. More youth football camp. Friday: More rain, a split day between the field and Trojan "4th Quarter" Hill, more rain, look into the eyes, you see dedication coming up the hill in a downpour, did I mention more rain. Think the the quarter mile hill sprints are easy, give it your best shot nine times, it is open for your pleasure at Harvard and the Creek Turnpike, TGIF, I bet they would love to suit up and hit someone today, last day of youth football camp, looking forward to the weekend and next week BIG MAN Camp and Skills Camp. Note: Thanks to the parents for getting their Trojans to camp, we know it is early. Week 2 Monday: Full crew back for more, more rain overnight, track group picture was fun, the hurdles were incredible, Coach Monty introduced a new technique, overall attitude was very positive. Tuesday: Same schedule but lineman camp to follow 10-3, passing league at 6:00 at Union, long day for coaches and players. Wednesday: No day off for campers, line camp 10-3, brutal heat and humidity Thursday: nice morning breeze, couple of bear crawlers, skill camps 10-3, JV passing league at 6:00. Another long day for coaches and players. Friday: Trojan Hill day, already extremely humid, skills camp finishes 10-3, everyone looking forward to the weekend. Week 3 Monday: Believe it or not, no rain this morning. Normal routine half track and half weightroom. Great attitudes. No camps this week. Tuesday: Wet, no rain, but rain overnight, steamy, everyone at the field and in the barn, rain came later, passing league rained out. Wednesday: Off, but rain. Take a look at the players. Changes are evident efforts are showing, literally. Thursday: Rain, no down pours this morning, but rain. More rain predicted for this afternoon and tonight, JV passing league at Jenks tonight if possible. Friday: Trojan hill awaits with the forecast of rain. Week 4 Monday: Yes it rained. Looking forward to a short 4th of July week. Tuesday: Guess what? it had rained again. Humidity is high, Passing league tonight at Jenks Wednesday: Thursday & Friday: 4th of July well deserved break in the action. Week 5 |
